Giving a head spa as a gift
Updated 10 October 2026
A head spa is a good gift because almost nobody buys it for themselves the first time, and almost everybody goes back. The trick is choosing a studio the person can actually reach, and a voucher they can actually use.
Pick the studio for them, not for you
Choose a studio close to where the person lives or works, with opening hours that fit their week; a studio that closes at 18:00 is hard for someone working late. Check the studio's own page for how to book, because a voucher for a place that is booked out for months is a frustrating gift. The city pages in this directory list every studio with address, hours and a booking link, so this takes two minutes.
Value voucher or fixed treatment
A value voucher, for example 100 euros, lets the person choose the treatment and the date. A fixed treatment, say the 90-minute ritual, is more personal and removes the awkwardness of a price tag. Most studios sell both; many sell them online as a PDF, which is handy for a gift on short notice. If in doubt, choose a value that covers the studio's 60-minute session with a little room, so nothing has to be topped up.
How long vouchers are valid
Rules differ by country, and the studio's own terms apply within those rules.
- Germany: vouchers are generally valid for three years, counted from the end of the year of purchase, unless the studio states a longer period. A shorter printed validity is usually not enforceable for a paid voucher.
- Austria and Switzerland: similar practice, with longer limitation periods in some cases; check the voucher text.
- United Kingdom: no legal minimum; the validity printed on the voucher applies, so read it before buying.
- United States: federal law requires gift cards to stay valid for at least five years from purchase, and several states go further.
Presenting it
Print the voucher or put the PDF in a card, and add the studio's address and a line about what a head spa is; many recipients have only seen it on social media. If you can, offer to book the appointment together, which doubles the chance that the voucher is used in the first month rather than found in a drawer two years later.
Questions
How much should a head spa voucher be?
Enough for the studio's 60-minute session with a little room, typically 80 to 120 euros in Germany and more in London, Zurich or large US cities. The studio page shows the current prices.
Can I buy a head spa voucher online?
Many studios sell vouchers on their website as a PDF or by post. The studio page in this directory marks studios that mention gift vouchers, and the website link leads to the shop.
Can a head spa voucher be refunded?
Usually not, apart from the legal right of withdrawal for online purchases in the EU and the UK within 14 days, as long as the voucher has not been redeemed. Check the studio's terms.
